HCA Summer Morning Chess Camp
Daily From June 22-26 & July 6-August 28, 2009 from 8:30am-12:30noon

This is a morning camp where we are offering chess instruction, USCF rated play, Non-Rated play, as well as other activities (air hockey, basketball, etc.).
The fee is $30/day and includes the rated play as well as a snack. Registration is on a per day basis.
**We need a minimum of two students. Therefore, we need registration to be completed two days ahead of time and will close out registration two days ahead of time. The reason for this is so we can notify and refund anyone we need to that there is only one camper and therefore we need to cancel that day. We do not want anyone to make plans of attending, show up at our Academy expecting camp to be held, and then we have to tell them that there is no camp because two campers have not signed up for that day. We believe this is an inconvience to that parent and student and we do not wish to do this. Thank you for your understanding.** Finally, if you wish to register on the day of the camp, please call me at 714-925-3195 for the status of whether or not the camp is being held that day. Please make this call by 7:30am.

Questions and Answers About This Camp
Q1.Who will be the chess instructor(s) in this camp?
A1. United States Chess Master Joe Hanley and/or USCF Chess Expert Barry Lazarus will be the camp instructor(s).
Q2.How many campers are needed for the camp to be held that day?
A2. As long as there are 2 campers registered for that day, we will hold the camp.
Q3. Will my son/daughter have to compete against higher, more experienced players?
A3. No, each student will be placed in either the Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced Group based on either their USCF rating or playing ability.
Q4. What does my son/daughter have to bring with them each day?
A4. Please have them bring their chess set, clock, and scorebook if they have it. If they do not have it, we will supply them.
Q5. What if I am unable to pick up my child by 12:30?
A5. We will care for your child until you arrive. There will be a fee of $5/15minutes charge for this care.
Q6. What is the refund policy should my child have to cancel?
A6. As long as the cancellation is within two days from the camp day, a full refund will be given (**minus the credit card fees**). There is no refund If your child wishes to leave camp due to not wanting to participate or any other non-emergency circumstance.
Q7. What does the registration fee include?
A7. The activities during the camp day as well as the snack.
By my registration for this child, I am stating I am the legal guardian/parent. I give full permission to have my child participate in this camp. I agree to the terms as written on this page. I also agree my child must adhere to the directions of the camp and it's directors. Failure to do so may cause my child to be asked to leave the camp without any refund. Should an emergency arise, I give full permission to Joe and/or Yvonne Hanley, or Barry Lazarus to render any medical treatment they deem necessary. I also give permission to them to transport my child to the nearest hospital should this become necessary.
